Ingredients

  • 1 head lettuce chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery chopped
  • 1/2 green pepper chopped
  • 1 cup frozen peas uncooked
  • 1/4 cup red onion chopped
  • 15 oz mayo
  • 1 TBS sugar
  • 4 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 10 oz center cut bacon fried & chopped

Instructions

  • Place chopped lettuce in a 9x13 pan.
  • Cook bacon in skillet and allow to cool.
  • Chop all remaining vegetables and layer on top of lettuce in this order- celery, pepper, onion and peas.
  • Spread mayonnaise on top of vegetables and sprinkle with sugar.
  • Add shredded cheese and top with crumbled bacon.
  • Mom says you MUST cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight.  (If you don't have that much time 1-2 hours is sufficient)

Notes

My Mom's recipe calls for 2 Tablespoons of sugar, I personally don't think it needs that much but you can add an additional tablespoon if you'd like.

The seven layers is vegetables... I didn't count the mayo and sugar :)
