Using a Continuous Glucose Monitor with Catherine Staffieri RD/N from Nutrisense

Sharing is caring!

SHOW NOTES: Episode 39

How can a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) be used to help achieve optimal wellness?

Today, I am joined by Catherine Staffieri RD/N to talk all about blood sugar and how using a continuous glucose monitor can help you gather data for your body and your health in order to achieve optimal wellness. Catherine is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist currently working as a Nutrition Manager at Nutrisense, one of the fastest growing healthtech start-ups aimed to help anyone discover and reach their health potential. Her philosophy is that you’re never too old to make changes in your life to better your mind, your body and your well being.

On today’s episode, Catherine and I talk about what a continuous glucose monitor is and why blood sugar is important. We chat about how the hormone insulin plays a role in how glucose is used by the body, what kind of health problems can happen when glucose is dysregulated in the body, and how a CGM is a tool that can help optimize many different areas of your health. Catherine shares how wearing a CGM is not just for those with diabetes, how a CGM collects data over the course of an entire day and not just a snapshot of a moment in the day, and if stress can impact the levels collected by a CGM. We also chat about some common misconceptions people can have about glucose management, how wearing a CGM is not a one size fits all approach and is very much individualized, and how a CGM is another tool that can be used for preventative care.

This was a great conversation with Catherine about Nutrisense and monitoring your blood sugar and glucose levels. It’s all about finding optimal wellness for yourself and learning to love your body well.
